About Us:

The goal of the Australian National University’s Volunteering Society is to serve as the bridge between students and organisations in need of volunteers within the Canberra region. We make it as easy as possible for you to find the sort of opportunities that you’re interested in, whether that be helping the homeless or teaching English to newly arrived refugees.

Volunteering allows you to improve the lives of others, learn about your local community and give back to society, all whilst studying at university. Besides giving back to the community, volunteering also allows you to gain diverse skills, and to hone existing ones. In an increasingly competitive employment market, such skills can be the difference between a good job and a great one.

So, now that you’re here, take a look at the website and find the volunteering opportunity for you!
